Ian Tomlinson

So, once again, the Metropolitan Police have quite literally gotten away with Murder.

The Officer who caused the innocent passerby Ian Tomlinson’s death by striking him with a Baton has been cleared by the Jury.

The problem is, the Jury were not shown important evidence. Such as the fact that the Dr who performed the original Autopsy was under GMC (General Medical Council) investigation for either intentionally botching autopsys for the Met and others, or was simply unfit to carry them out. 2 further autopsys were then carried out, by I believe 2 different Pathologists, and both found the cause of death to be “Blunt force trauma as caused by a Police baton”

It turns out that the Officer in question actually has a history of violence and road rage offences, and actually left the Met in 2001 to evade a Disciplinary Investigation by the Police Complaints Commission after he was prosecuted. And was then, amazingly let back into the Met in 2004. A History of Violence is apparently no barrier to joining or rejoining the Met.

Ian’s family are looking at pursuing civil action, though it’s unclear whether they will be going after the Officer, or the Met, or both. I wish them the best of luck and hope they can at some point achieve Justice for Ian’s Murder.

This finding of not guilty is the result of a long line of botched attempts to hinder the investigation, delay proceedings till it was too late, and applying the wrong charges by the Met and the Crown Prosecution Service to protect the Officer from justice.
